We're The St. Joe Community Foundation (STJCF) Inc, formerly the Northwest Florida Improvement Foundation, and this is what we do. Founded by The St. Joe Company (JOE), a long-time Northwest Florida neighbor, the STJCF is a resource for bringing a variety of community-focused initiatives home to Bay and Walton counties.
JOE believes there is no better place to call “home” than Northwest Florida. Supporting the region's heritage and culture while investing to make it even better is STJCF's everyday mission.
In ten short years, the STJCF has contributed more than $15 million in grants and pledges to local groups that care about Northwest Florida like we do. And that's just the beginning.
The STJCF has already made a significant impact on our region. But there is so much more we can do. Our unique funding structure is based on a percentage of the selling price initially paid by JOE then payments continue in perpetuity through deed covenants. JOE and the property owners who live in our neighborhoods are partnering with the community for the betterment of the entire region. Over time, this legacy of JOE is left to the community with a potential we are only now beginning to appreciate, and which will impact the quality of life in Northwest Florida for generations to come.
Whether it's helping to build a library in the smallest district, or contributing to a brand new state-of-the-art hospital in an underserved area or the world's premier education experience like the Naval Flight Academy scheduled to open in 2012, the STJCF works with its communities creating alliances and partnerships to establish and support meaningful and sustainable programs that are valuable investments in the future.
